Bridge league winners

For the week of Sept. 15 through Sept. 19, bridge winners were:

At the YMCA duplicate game in first place were Dave Benedict and Penny Miller and second place went to Laurie Curren and Richard Woodruff.

The Tuesday Woman’s Club game had Bill Massa in first and Connie Lucia second.

At the Woman’s Club on Thursday Sherry Griffiths was first and Marcy O’Brien was second.

At the Conewango Club on Friday Carol Stone placed first and Sherry Griffiths was second.

City leaf collection to begin Oct. 13

Warren’s Department of Public Works will begin its 2024 leaf collection on Monday, Oct. 13. Crews will be collecting throughout the city on a daily basis, concentrating on areas of most need. Residents are reminded that piled-leaves will be picked up by the city’s leaf vacuum machines, and the bagged-leaves will be collected by a separate truck. Leaves should be placed on the lawn/curb area and not in the street. Residents are asked not to mix limbs or other yard waste in the leaves. This is a leaf pick up only. The city will continue to collect leaves until completed or until weather permits.
