Tidioute gears up for 2025 Fun Days weekend
A beloved local tradition is back and bigger than ever as Tidioute Fun Days returns Friday, Aug. 1, and Saturday, Aug. 2.
The free, family-friendly event offers a full slate of activities celebrating community pride, local history and a healthy dose of fun.
Formed in 2022 after the disbanding of the Tidioute Alumni Association, Tidioute Fun Days now welcomes anyone who has ever lived in, camped near, or simply visited Tidioute. Organizers encourage everyone to “come and have fun,” and they’re delivering a weekend packed with unique activities and local flavor.
“We wanted to create an event that celebrates what makes Tidioute so special–its people, its stories, and its sense of community,” said Heather Cass, one of the organizers. “Tidioute Fun Days is about reconnecting, remembering, and most of all, enjoying each other’s company.”
Festivities begin Friday evening at the Tidioute Boat Launch with a stone skipping demonstration at 4:30 p.m., followed by a fishing demonstration at 5:30 p.m. Those looking to test their knowledge can head over to 140 Main Street, the former True Value building, for a night of Tidioute Trivia. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m., and the event runs from 7 to 9 p.m. There will also be dinner available at the trivia venue from 5 to 9 p.m. from FUNN DOGGS, a hot dog food booth.
Saturday kicks off with a softball game at 9 a.m. at the Tidioute ballfield followed by school tours and a display of Tidioute alumni memorabilia from 10 a.m. to noon at the Foundation House, 247 Main St. At 1 p.m., history buffs can join a walking tour of Tidioute, departing from 140 Main St. The tour promises a deeper dive into the stories and people that shaped the town.
The weekend culminates in the Tidioute alumni dinner at 5 p.m. Saturday at the fire hall that also includes a performance by Jamie Petrush, a Las Vegas-based walk-around magician.
FUNN DOGGS will also be back Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 140 Main St.
