The Warren County Republican Committee recently awarded the 13th Emory Mahan and David White Memorial Scholarships. Mahan and White were stalwart Republicans who insisted the local party should help the community, a legacy carried on in part by the yearly scholarship. This year’s winners had to demonstrate an awareness of American history through writing as well as broad examples of community work and service. Each recipient received a check for $1,000. To date the scholarship has awarded almost $40,000. Pictured are Madison McDunn and Grady Corey, scholarship winners, along with the Warren County Republican Secretary Joe McClellan.
