Youngsville American Legion Auxiliary Post 658 members recently attended the Youngsville Middle School awards ceremony to present the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Pennsylvania School Award to Mattie Konen-Smith.

Kathie Reed, post president-elect, Alicia Elfstrom, secretary, and Debby Bugbee, treasurer, were among the auxiliary members who worked in conjunction with Youngsville Middle School faculty and administration in selecting Mattie as the award’s recipient. She was chosen for her honor, courage, scholarship, leadership, service and Americanism.

Mattie was presented a certificate and pin by Elfstrom.
