Hunter Peterson will be the featured soloist for Sunday’s Warren Philharmonic Mother’s Day concert.

Titled “Isn’t It Romantic,” the selections are exclusively from the Romantic period in music or feature romantic themes. The first half of the performance will feature Edward Grieg’s “Norwegian Dances”, Tomoso Albinoni’s “Adagio for Strings and Organ”, and the fourth movement of the Saint Seans Symphony No. 3 for organ and orchestra. The latter portion of the performance adopts a distinct contemporary approach. It features Henry Mancini’s “Moon River,” “If I Loved You,” from the musical Carousel, “Some Enchanted Evening” from South Pacific, and finishes with a medley from My Fair Lady.

Bryan Eckenrode, musical director and conductor of the Warren Philharmonic, will lead the musicians. The concert will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at First Lutheran Church in Warren.

Peterson is an organist and vocalist who is studying for his Master of Music in organ performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music. He is the director of music and organist at Trinity United Church of Christ in Wadsworth, Ohio, and was formerly the music director and organist at First Presbyterian Church of Warren. He performs regularly in the Cleveland area.

He has previously been the vocal director at the Struthers Library Theater Academy and interned at the Warren County Summer Music School. He also performed with the Warren Philharmonic during a July 2024 outdoor concert as a vocal soloist.
