Conewango township cleanup is Friday,

Saturday

CONEWANGO – Conewango Township will host its clean-up days Friday, May 2, from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 3, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the township building, 4 Fireman St., Warren. Prohibited items include: oil, paint, and liquid hazardous waste, asbestos and propane tanks, yard waste and household garbage, electronics, batteries, shingles and tires. Scrap metal will be accepted, but commercial waste is prohibited. Costs are $10 per car and $25 per truck or van, with pricing for trucks or vans with trailers determined on-site. Caring For Life

to host Mom Prom

Caring For Life will host its 12th Mom Prom starting at 7 p.m. Friday, May 9, at the Conewango Club in Warren. This year’s theme is Famous Females. Women ages 21 and over are invited for an evening of dancing, appetizers and a cash bar. Caring for Life is a non-profit that supports families with seriously ill children in Warren County. Monday evening at the YMCA, Shelley Dahlie and Pat Fincher were first with Chick Bello and Richard Woodruff in second. Jo Simonsen and Sherry Griffiths were first and second on Tuesday at the Allegheny Community Center. On Thursday at the Woman’s Club, Alice Kellogg came in first and Connie Michell was second.

Caregivers Support Group changes schedule for Thursday

For this month only, the first Thursday Caregivers Support Group meeting on Thursday, May 1, will not be held as usual. Instead, support group members plan to attend the workshop at the Northern PA Regional College, in the fourth floor conference room, at 6:30 p.m. The program, Understanding Alzheimer’s Part 2, will be presented by a representative of the Western PA Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and is free and open to the public. Food distribution

to be held May 6

PITTSFIELD – The Second Harvest Produce Express will be at the Pittsfield Otterbein Global Methodist Church, 258 Dalrymple St., Pittsfield on Tuesday, May 6. Volunteers are needed at 1 p.m. and food distribution will begin at 2 p.m. Families will be served on a first-come, first-served basis. No pre-registration is necessary.
