Photo provided to the Times Observer The ACC and Erie Arts and Culture have partnered for a five week watercolor program. The last week of the program saw attendees gather for a meal and to admire each other’s work. The program was sponsored by the Pa. Department of Aging and the Betts Foundation.

SENIOR EXPO

The Care Council of Warren and Forest Counties will hold this year’s Senior Expo on Friday, Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Warren YMCA. There will be many local vendors that provide services or offer programs to all seniors.

FLU SHOTS

AVAILABLE

Experience Inc. is providing flu shots in conjunction with Gaughn’s Drug Store. Pre-registration is required and those attending are asked to bring their insurance cards. Call (814) 723-3763 to and select option two to register.

OUT & ABOUT

The next Out & About, where the Allegheny Community Center partners with the Transit Authority of Warren County to provide bussing to take seniors out for the evening, is set for Thursday, Sept. 26 at The Factory. Those driving themselves are asked to be at the restaurant at 5 p.m. Call (814) 723-4180 to reserve a seat on the bus.

OPEN ENROLLMENT

Open Enrollment for Medicare begins Oct. 15 and runs through Dec. 7. Anyone looking for more information is asked to contact a local PA MEDI Counselor with the Pennsylvania Medicare Education and Decision Insight program. An open enrollment presentation will be held at the ACC at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

MEMORY CARE

CAFE

The Memory Care Cafe provides the opportunity for persons living with dementia and their loved ones for friendship, fun, creativity, and connections. Dementia practitioners from the Rouse will be on hand to do an activity with the persons living with dementia while the ACC provides some fun and creative down time to their caregivers. The next session will be held Sept. 12 from noon to 2 p.m.

TAI CHI

The ACC is holding a weekly Tai Chi class at the ACC. Each session is held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

PAINTING CLASSES

Watercolor and acrylic classes are held every week at the ACC. Watercolor is held on Tuesdays from noon to 2 p.m. and acrylic classes are on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon.

SENIORS FOR

SAFE DRIVING

A Seniors for Safe Driving class will be held Sept. 19 at the ACC from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The program offers a five percent discount on auto insurance premiums. Tuition is $17. Call (800) 559-4880 to reserve a spot in the class.
