ANF event

The Forest Service is offering a free program about the basics of fishing in the Allegheny National Forest. The program will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Beanfields Trail near Buckaloons Recreation Area in Irvine. No fishing license is required to participate. Limited fishing equipment is available for use by program participants, including fishing rods, hooks, and bait. ‘Get out the Vote’ event

Republican, Libertarian and undecided voters in Brokenstraw Township and Youngsville Borough are welcome to a “Get out the Vote” event on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 366 Patti Lane. Candidate information and the appropriate forms and voting schedules will be available.

Connie Michell came in first and Donna Hickey was second on Tuesday at the Allegheny Community Center. At the Woman’s Club on Thursday, Marcy O’Brien and Michell were first and second.
