Band Aid Warren

Band Aid Warren V has been designated as the American Cancer Society’s Community Movement Relay for Life event for Warren County. The event, which includes live music, food, drinks and vendors, will be held on Sept. 21 at Pellegrino’s Creekside, Conewango Ave., from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Those attending are asked to bring lawn chairs and games. No outside food or beverages, or pets, are permitted. Additional information is available at Band Aid Warren on Facebook and relayforlife.org/PAWarren.

Christian women to meet

Jamestown-Warren Christian Women will meet at Noon on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 907 Pennsylvania Ave. E., Warren. Reservations can be made with Nancy Schuyler at (716) 397-3674 or (716) 720-4410.

Grief support workshop

Hospice of Warren County’s Schorman Center will hold a free grief support workshop. The four consecutive weekly sessions will be held on Sept. 24, Oct. 1, Oct. 8 and Oct. 15 at either 10 a.m. or 5 p.m. Registration is required to attend. The meetings will be held at the Hospice office at 1 Main Ave. Call (814) 723-8060 by Sept. 18 to register.

PennDOT maintenance work

The following maintenance work is planned for the week of Sept. 3 on roadways maintained by PennDOT: Ditch cleaning on Rt. 957 in Freehold Twp., Rt. 957 in Columbus Twp., Scranton Hollow Rd. in Farmington Twp. and Rt. 62 in Limestone Twp.; Spray patching on Old Route 77, Lindsey Hollow Rd. and Oil Creek Rd. in Spring Creek Twp. and Oil Creek Rd. in Eldred Twp.; Crack sealing on Rt. 957 in Farmington Twp. and shoulder cutting in various locations.

ANF accepting comments

The U.S. Forest Service is accepting public review and comment for the North Kane Vegetation Management Project in the Marienville Ranger District in McKean Co. The project area is located north of Kane and encompasses 13,995 acres of National Forest System lands. The North Kane project has proposed management activities that include vegetation treatments, timber harvesting, wildlife habitat improvements, non-native invasive plant species treatments and transportation activities. Details on the project are available on the ANF website and comments can be made via email, mail, phone and fax.

Outdoor club to bike

The Allegheny Outdoor Club will bike or hike on the Kinzua Valley Trail at Westline on Sunday, Sept. 8. The group will meet at Musante St. at 1 p.m. or at the trailhead, 31 CCC Rd., at 2 p.m. The group will then bike or hike on the Rail 66 trail from Leeper to Maryanne on Sunday, Sept. 15. The group will meet at Musante St. at 1 p.m. or at the Rail 66 trailhead in Leeper, not the community center park.

The Warren County Veterans Affairs office will be closed from today through Friday with normal hours to resume on Monday.
