Center announces hiring of new executive director

Asha Waterstreet is the new executive director of the Kinzua Youth Development Center.

The Kinzua Youth Development Center’s Board of Directors have announced the hiring of Asha Waterstreet as the center’s first executive director.

She will be charged with overseeing the center’s administrative duties while completing their three-year strategic plan. Additionally, she will support and disseminate the center’s youth development mission and vision. That is emphasizing the personal and social responsibility tenants of respect, giving best efforts, being self-directed and helping others to the area’s youth in a “we build up” environment.

Waterstreet was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations from Southern Methodist University (Dallas, Texas). In 1993 upon graduation from college she worked for ValuJet Airlines as a crew coordinator and in 1996, moved to Rochester, NY where she and her husband raised two daughters. In Rochester, Waterstreet was the sole proprietor of a retail specialty food shop selling olive oil and balsamic vinegars and as a community activist served on the boards of the Monroe Community Hospital Foundation and the Westside YMCA.

Ms. Waterstreet and her husband Mark, who is a retired Southwest Airlines pilot, moved to the Warren area in 2021 and are enjoying life in Warren County. Her two grown daughters Allison and Julia along with three grandchildren live in the D.C. area.

Since moving to Warren Ms. Waterstreet has operated an online business, Tasteful Additions, which also has a presence in the Salsa Soleil boutique in Warren.
