Class reunion

The Youngsville High School Class of 1959 will hold its 55th reunion this weekend starting with a 6 p.m. gathering Friday at the Youngsville American Legion. That will be followed by breakfast on Saturday at the Legion at 10 a.m. and dinner from 4 to 11 p.m. with social time at the Brokenstraw Valley Winery.

Paving project on Rt. 666

PennDOT has announced that a paving project on Route 666 in Howe Township, Forest County is set to begin soon. The project will include 1.89 miles from the intersection of Blue Jay Creek Road to the Warren County line. Motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers and should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions. Drivers should anticipate travel delays during active work hours.

Blood drive

Community Blood Bank is holding two blood drives in Warren County in the coming week. The first will be held at Holy Redeemer Church on Aug. 20 from noon to 5:30 p.m. followed by a noon to 5 p.m. drive on Wednesday. Appointments, while not required, can be made by calling (814) 596-3395. Walk-ins are welcome.

NPRC information session

Northern Pennsylvania Regional College is hosting a virtual Information Session on Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. This event is designed for anyone who may be thinking about applying to NPRC or registering for a workforce development opportunity in the future. Those interested in attending are encouraged to sign up at NPRCEvents.org.

Class to meet

The Warren High School Class of 1957 will meet on Saturday at Mama Jane’s, Ludlow St., at 12:30 p.m.

Outdoor club to hike

The Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike at the Buzzard Swamp Wildlife Viewing Area near Marienville on Sunday. The hike will be 3.8 miles and is flat. Those attending are asked to bring binoculars and cameras. The group will meet at Musante St. in Warren at 1 p.m. and stop at the convenience store, Chestnut St., Marienville, at 1:45 p.m. before proceeding into the forest.
