Warren native graduates from Indiana University

Warren native Beth T. Boyd, daughter of Christine A. Boyd and the late Dennis R. Boyd, announces her graduation and conferral of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Spanish from Indiana University (Bloomington, Ind.) Boyd graduated with a concentration in Hispanic Literatures and Cultural Studies and a minor in Medieval Studies, working as an instructor, fellow, translator, and editorial assistant during her time at IU. Her dissertation, “From Colonial Foundations to Post-Colonial Networks: Apparition Miracles and Memetics Narrate the Conquest,” examined the importance of religious texts in Mexico historically, as well as their implications in the twenty-first century. She has since collaborated on the book Contemporary Colonialities in Mexico and Beyond (2023) through the University of Toronto Press. She currently works as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish at Miami University (Oxford, Ohio).
