The Jessica Salapek Memorial 5K annually raises money for local suicide prevention and mental health education. This year the amount raised was $1,903.01. The money was donated to Kari Swanson’s C.O.R.E. organization. C.O.R.E., Choosing Openness Regarding Experiences, is a project designed to spread awareness and education about suicide through speakers, presentations as well as providing a safe place for people to express themselves.
