The Tionesta Lions Club has announced its 2024 Lighthouse tour schedule. This year, the Sherman Memorial Lighthouse located on Lighthouse Island on the beautiful Allegheny River in Tionesta, Pa., will be open for tours the second Saturday of the month June through October from 1 to 4 p.m. plus the third Saturday of August during the town’s Indian Festival. The first date will be this weekend. The Sherman Memorial Lighthouse was built by local businessman J. Jack Sherman to house his 300-plus miniature lighthouse collection plus memorialize his family’s history. Sherman is a member of the local Lions Club and allows the opening of the Lighthouse for tours as a way for the club to raise money for their community projects. All of the small entry fee goes to the community. The cost is $5 per adult, $2 for 13 to 18 years old and children 12 and under are free!
