Registration open for city’s playground program
Registration is open for this year’s City of Warren Summer Playground Program.
The program is open to kids ages seven to 13 and provides activities, trips and supervised park time for students from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
It kicks off June 17 and wraps up on August 9.
City of Warren Administrative Assistant Kassie Damcott said that the program will be held at Crescent, Lacy and Beaty parks.
It’s going to be a busy summer for the kids in the program.
Damcott said that scheduled trips include an Erie SeaWolves baseball game, the Erie Zoo, Betts Park Field Day, Chapman State park and the Warren County Fair in addition to water wars and the Warren Public Library.
A series of special guests will also visit participants at the parks including the Audubon, Garden Club, Music Conservatory, K9 officers along with city police and fire, A Safe Place and the Warren County Children’s Advocacy Center.
Each Monday will also include a trip to the CAR Pool.
The registration form is available on the city’s website – cityofwarrenpa.gov – and can be emailed to Damcott at kdamcott@cityofwarrenpa.gov. Paper copies can also be picked up at the city building.
Damcott said anyone with questions about the program can email or call her at (814) 723-6300, etc. 120.
