Five JCC graduates earn Honor Program citation

Austyn Brumbaugh

Five recent graduates of Jamestown Community College completed all requirements to earn the college’s Honors Program citation.

Maysa Bayramova of Turkmenabat, Turkmenistan; Austyn Brumbaugh of Jamestown; Hyeonsang Cho of Daejeon, South Korea; Julianna Main of Frewsburg; and Elin Scalise of Sheffield, Pennsylvania completed a globally-focused honors symposium course and two project-based honors courses required of the JCC Honors Program while maintaining a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better.

Bayramova graduated with a degree in Business Administration. She was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society and named to the Phi Theta Kappa All-State Academic Team. Bayramova also served on the Student Senate and was a resident assistant while at JCC.

Brumbaugh earned a Computer Science degree. Brumbaugh assisted with the management of JCC’s new augmented and virtual reality room that opened in January.

Cho completed a Math & Science degree. He was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society and was recently awarded the Robert Lee Scharmann Drama Scholarship. Cho was also a member of the JCC baseball team.

Elin Scalise

Main earned a Communication degree. She was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society and was a JCC Student Senate member. Main was also recently awarded the Roger C. Seager Presidential Scholarship.

Scalise graduated with a degree in Addictions Counseling. She was inducted in the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society and named to the Phi Theta Kappa All-State Academic Team.

To be a candidate for the Honors program, high school graduates must have achieved a GPA of 90% or better and be eligible to take college-level English and math courses or have taken 12 or more college credits, possess at least a 3.5 GPA, and be eligible to take college-level English and math courses.
