U. S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service to offer 2 Night Sky Programs in April

The US Department of Agriculture Forest Service is offering two free, interpretive night sky programs in Allegheny National Forest in April.

The first program is Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Kinzua Beach on Route 59. The second program will be on Friday, April 12, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Beaver Meadows near Marienville.

“During our journey across the sky, we will identify stars, constellations, and night sky objects while exploring connections to our past and future,” said Ranger Sarah Needs.

Participants are recommended to bring a chair or blanket and dress appropriately for the weather, including walking shoes. Participants should meet at the parking area by 8:20 p.m. at the latest.

For questions about the Night Sky Programs contact Sarah Needs at 814-927-5776.
