Northern Pennsylvania Regional College is scheduling an emergency response seminar at the Youngsville Volunteer Fire Department.
The seminar, planned for Jan. 17, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., is currently open for registration at events.regionalcollegepa.org/event/nprc.events.453208.
The seminar, named Emergency Planning and Response for Everyone, is "intended to promote comprehensive plans to enhance organizational safety, and is the perfect way for educators, public safety leaders, and interested community members to learn about and build a plan to address all phases of active assailant incident planning, response, and mitigation," according to NPRC.
According to the college, the event is aimed at educators, public safety leaders and entities, school emergency management coordinators, government officials and emergency management leaders, community task force leaders and interested members of the public.
There is no fee for the program.
"The course is led by a collection of highly trained, industry-leading professionals who will help you, your colleagues, and your fellow community members be more prepared to aid in case of an active shooter emergency," according to information provided by NPRC.
Presenters include Brian Marren, Arcadia Cognerati,Northern Pennsylvania Regional College and Emergency Management Homeland Security/Southern Tioga School District instructor Will Schlosser, PA Broadband Development Authority Outreach and Engagement Manager Katie Snyder, Center for Safe Schools Director Joey Melvin, Clearview Asset Protection owner Lance Thomas, Techline Technologies Vice President Dave Parry, School Resource Officer Scott Davis, School Resource Officer, Pugh Self-protection and Combatives President Zach Pugh, Wellsboro Police Department Chief Jim Bodine and MCM Consulting Group Director of Operations Mike Rearick.
