Tidioute plans Hometown Holidays Friday

It’s that time of year and Tidioute is gearing up for a night of lights, food, family fun and, of course, Santa.

The fourth annual Hometown Holidays event is slate for Friday starting at 6 p.m.

The event will kick off with a Christmas light up parade from the Tidioute fire hall to Buckingham Street.

The public is invited to participate by decorating their favored mode of transportation and signing up to join the parade. Almost anything is eligible including, four-wheelers, side-by-sides, bikes, trucks, wagons and more. Those interested can register by visiting the borough office, emailing tborough@tidioute.org or lita.wolford@gmail.com, or the day of the event by visiting the registration table in front of the firehall. The deadline to register is 5:45 p.m. Friday. According to the borough 20 to 25 registrations have already been made.

Visiting dignitaries will judge parade entries and keep your eyes peeled for the Grinch.

After the parade, events will start at the former True Value building at approximately 7 p.m.

Stations will be set up inside the building offering various activities, refreshments and items for sale.
