Enchanted Forest registration begins

A Spring Peeper will be among several creatures that greet visitors and share stories along the trails at Audubon Community Nature Center’s Enchanted Forest. Registration for the Oct. 6-7 event has begun.

The Audubon Community Nature Center is accepting registration for its annual Enchanted Forest event on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 6-7.

During the non-scary event designed for children and their adults, animals speak human language and communicate with visitors. Those attending will follow a guide through the luminary-lit Enchanted Trail to meet animals that will engage tjhe imagination, maybe people laugh and teach about wildlife in the region. After the walk, stop in the backyard to enjoy a campfire and live music. Snacks and drinks will be available. There will be crafts, live animals, and exhibits to explore inside the Nature Center.

Enchanted Forest happens rain or shine, so be sure to dress for the weather. For protection from biting insects like mosquitoes, long pants, long-sleeved shirts, closed-toe shoes, and insect repellent are recommended. Halloween costumes are welcome.

Starting at 6 p.m. walks go out every 10 minutes and last about 40 minutes. The last walk starts at 8 p.m. (Sunset is 6:45 p.m.)

Prepayment is required and reserves a specific time.

The fee is $14 for adults, $10.50 for Nature Center members and children ages 3-15, and free for children 2 and under.

The Enchanted Forest is sponsored by Ekey Marketplace, Kinetic by Windstream, Forecon, and Saxton, Kocur & Associates LLP.
