Outdoor Club to hike

The Allegheny Outdoor Club will be hiking to Gardner ROcks on Sunday, Sept. 24. The group will meet at the Hatch Run Demonstration Area parking lot on Hatch Run Rd. at 2 p.m. The hike will be approximately five miles.

Historical Society to hold

Ladies Night Out

SCANDIA — The Elk Township Historical Society, located in the former Scandia School, will hold a Ladies Night Out on Tuesday, Oct. 3, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. All women are invited to attend to celebrate together while making several, easy autumn crafts to take home to decorate their homes for the harvest season. The event also includes seasonal snacks and beverages. A demonstration, “Decorating with Food,” will offer additional ideas for enhancing the beauty of autumn. Door prizes will be awarded. The event costs $20. Pre-registration is required by Sept. 28. Cash and reservations can be sent to Sharon Johnson, 6632 Scandia Road, Russell, PA. 16345. Proceeds will benefit the historical society.
