The Warren Library show “Yes I Can” (also performed by Cris Johnson) will be on Tuesday, at 10:30 am. No registration needed.

Summer Storytime programming announced at Youngsville Library

¯On Tuesday from 10:30 am – 11:30 am is Sensory Storytime at the Youngsville Library. No registration is needed to attend. Target ages are 4-12 years. Sensory Storytime consists of stories and fun interactive exploration and activities; it’s designed for children on the spectrum but is still fun for all and all are welcome.

¯From “Amazing Animals” to “Fiction & Fitness” and lots in between, Youngsville Library has an action-packed summer programming schedule. Free snacks for ages 18 and under is offered from 11 am – 4 pm, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays now through Aug. 18. A six-part Fiction and Fitness series (location is Island Park) is on various Wednesdays from 10 am -11 am. July 5, July 19, Aug. 2, Aug. 16, and Aug. 23 are the remaining dates. Each Wednesday in July from 1 pm – 2pm, there will be STEM-ulating Stories with Sara. Pairing great stories with fun interactive, STEM activities. No registration, target ages 5-12. ¯BVSPool Swim Lessons: Brokenstraw Valley Swimming Pool “Learn to Swim” Program class times are 10:30 am – 11:15 am or 11:30 am – 12:15 pm. Session two is July 10 – July 21 and Session Three is July 24 – July 28. Call or stop in the week prior to each session to sign up and for details ( BVSP Thatchers Lane, Yngs) . Classes are limited to 12 students per swim level. Adult Swim Lessons are offered Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:50 pm – 6:30 pm ($5 per class) July 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, and 26. Submitted photo Kids had fun making a “spidery” craft with Library Director, Kristy Wallace during the first of the free six-part program series “Amazing Animals” at Youngsville Library. Next program date is Monday from 10:30–11:30 am. No registration required. Target ages are 4 -12 years, but all are welcome. Each program in this series features: a nature story (featuring a different animal each week), nature facts, a craft that you can take-home or choose to complete at the library, and a snack. You do not have to attend each of the six programs. Amazing Animals is each Monday from now through July 31.

¯Yngs Downtown Plans: Heart and Soul, Revitalization of Youngsville, and the Youngsville Borough would all like to hear your feedback on the draft recommendation regarding the Youngsville Downtown Plan. ¯Pickleball Courts: The pickleball courts located at Island Park are set up and ready for play. The Youngsville YMCA has pickleball paddles that can be checked out for use on the Island Park Pickleball courts. You can check out books about Pickleball rules and game play at the Youngsville Public Library.

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS

¯Part-time Office manager: Immediate opening for a part-time Office Manager (approximately 12-15 hrs./week) at the Youngsville First UMC (225 East Main St.). ¯Irvine-Newbold Tour: Join Allegheny National Forest District Archaeologist, Zaakiyah Cua, for a journey back in time on a walking tour of the once-lavish grounds of the historic Irvine-Newbold Estate. Meet at the Wilder Museum (51 Erie Ave., Irvine, PA) at 6 pm. Proper footwear is a must. Cost is $5 per person. All proceeds benefit the Wilder Museum of Warren County History.

¯Spaghetti Dinner: Benefit Spaghetti Dinner for Jestin Gruber at the Garland VFD on Thursday, June 29 from 6-8 pm. Adults price is $10, children 12 and under is $5. There will be a Chinese Auction. Jestin was in a very bad car accident and is in the ICU. He is lucky to be alive and needs help with his medical expenses.
