The Conewango Creek Watershed Association needs volunteers

The Conewango Creek Watershed Association has teamed up with Dickinson College’s Alliance for Aquatic Resource Monitoring to launch a monthly water quality monitoring program, a new volunteer water-quality monitoring initiative.

An information meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at the Warren County Conservation District, 4000 Conewango Ave., Warren. The deadline to sign up is June 6, by visiting bit.ly/ccwamonitoring or visiting www.conewangocreek.org for more information.

The program is funded by the Consortium for Scientific Assistance to Watersheds.

The goal of the CCWA Monitoring Program is to collect data on local streams to help inform baseline health and progress on restoration efforts. On June 7, CCWA and ALLARM will host a community event aimed at informing local volunteers about the program, expectations, and how to collect and analyze water samples from priority Warren County creeks and streams. There is no commitment implied by attending this meeting. The information session is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
