The Youngsville Public Library is having a spring book sale Fundraising Event today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The spring book sale is a one-day event and will be held inside the Library building (100 Broad Street). There will be a variety of “gently-used” large print fiction, books for youth/children, DVDs, Christian fiction, and other genres to choose from.

Food will not be available at the spring book sale. The Youngsville Library will still have its annual fall book sale in September, details as the date approaches. Library officials said they appreciate all those who donated “gently used” items for the spring fundraiser.

¯ Sensory story time will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday. No registration is necessary. Target ages are 4-11 developmentally but all are welcome. There will be stories, songs, interactive movement activities, sensory bin exploration and for fine- and gross-motor skills development activities. Youngsville Library’s sensory story time is held the third Tuesday of each month.

¯ A Successful Interview Workshop will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the library. Learn some interview tips, what employers can and cannot ask during an interview, and gain information to boost self-confidence during the interview process. This is a causal workshop that encourages question-and-answer time. Walk-ins are welcome but pre-registration preferred. ¯ Free SkillUp PA training will be offered from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday. Learn how to access the more than 6,000 free training and personal betterment classes that are available through the free SkillUP PA database that is free to all PA residents. SkillUP PA offers free video training sessions that can be accessed at one’s convenience. Hinchman will be available Wednesday to provide an overview of SkillUP PA and help people log on and navigate the site. Walk-in or contact HInchman at 814-853-3942 with questions.

¯ A job search question-and-answer session will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the library. This is an opportunity to get personalized, one-on-one help with employment questions and also how to access the PACareerLInk site. Walk-ins are welcome. FUNDRAISERS

¯ Chicken Barbecue: A chicken barbecue Saturday, June 10, will be held from noon until sold out and Friendship Field in Pittsfield. The Garland Volunteer Fire Department is having a chicken barbecue fundraiser. This is also the day for the Pittsfield Township Sale Days.

¯ Spaghetti Dinner: A spaghetti dinner will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Youngsville Free Methodist Church (179 Davis St.). Proceeds will benefit the church’s Lighthouse Teens program and will help pay the cost of tickets for the Kingdom Bound event being planned. Both dine-in and take-out options are available. Meal includes spaghetti, salad, bread, and dessert. The cost is $10 donation per adult meal and $5 donation per child’s meal (under 10 years old) for dine-in. Take-out cost is $10 per meal. The Lighthouse Teens group was created for youth in sixth through 12th grades. The group meets Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. For more information about this youth group visit www.ybfree.org.

¯ Fashion Flaunt: On Wednesday, May 31, the Wilder Museum (51 Erie Ave., Irvine) is having a “Fashion Flaunt” fundraiser from the Palmer Dress Collection from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is a donation. There will be a runway show, an era artistic display, hors d’oeuvres, the popular “Auction of the Purses,” and a special appearance by “Elvis!” This year’s theme will feature the glamorous collection of gowns by Fashion Designer Paul Palmer, formerly of Youngsville, Pa. MISCELLANEOUS NEWS

¯ Warren Co Youth Orchestra: On Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. the Warren County Youth Orchestra will present “Tales of the Sea” at the Trinity Memorial Church (444 Penn Avenue West, Warren).

¯ Circus: The Lewis & Clark Circus will be performing at the Warren County Fairground on Monday and Tuesday. Showtimes are Monday at 6 p.m. and Tuesday at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Each show lasts 90 minutes. To purchase tickets visit lewisclarkcircus.com/tour-dates.

¯ Community Potluck: On Sunday, May 28, at 5 p.m., the Youngsville Free Methodist Church (179 Davis St.) is hosting a community potluck event. Bring a favorite dish to share. The Free Methodist Church will provide hamburgers, hotdogs, and drinks.

¯ Wilder Museum: The Wilder Museum (51 Erie Ave.) will open for the season on Tuesday, May 30, from 1 to 5 p.m. Explore 17 exhibit rooms and more than 4,000 Warren County artifacts. The museum offers displays of the Victorian Era, Native American culture, the development of oil, lumber, early transportation and communication, manufacturing, CCC and military history, and more. Coming soon, “The One-Room Schoolhouse” exhibit will open.
