The Youngsville Public Library will hold a Bariatric Support Group meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday

This meeting is open to the public and all are welcome. The goal of this group is to offer a casual, friendly atmosphere where anyone who has had bariatric surgery- or might be considering surgery- can share and discuss their ongoing experiences and questions with one another. This group will meet the first Wednesday of each month from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Youngsville Library. For more information, call Rebecca Butler at 814-650-2632.

Holiday Hours: Youngsville Library will be open regular hours on Good Friday, April 7th (11 am – 4 pm). Reminder that free-to-the-public Wi-Fi access is always available 24-7 and can be accessed from the Youngsville Public Library parking lot towards Water Street. BOROUGH NEWS

Public Kickoff Meeting: An “open house” style meeting to learn about and provide feedback regarding the Youngsville Downtown Plan will be on Wednesday, April 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Borough Building (40 Railroad St.). Feel free to come and go at your convenience anytime throughout the meeting timeframe to provide feedback and to learn about the Downtown Plans for Youngsville. Meeting sponsored in cooperation with Youngsville Borough, Youngsville Heart & Soul and Revitalization of Youngsville.

Holiday hours: The Youngsville Borough office will be closed on Good Friday, April 7. Regular business hours and services will resume on Monday, April 10.

Easter Egg Hunts

¯ Friendship Park: Egg Hunt sponsored by the Otterbein EUM will be at Friendship Park (in Pittsfield) on Saturday, April 8th starting at 11:00 am. Ages 0 – 12 years old. Be on time as the egg hunt goes quickly.

¯ Island Park: Saturday, April 8th starting at 11:00 am the Youngsville American Legion will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt for ages 0-10 years. This egg hunt is sponsored by the following Youngsville American Legion groups: The Legion Auxiliary, the Sons of the American Legion, and the Legion Riders. This is a free event.

¯ Free Methodist: Saturday, April 8th starting at 1:00 pm, the Youngsville Free Methodist Church (179 Davis Street) will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt for ages Toddler – 12 years old.

¯ Sensory Friendly Egg Hunt: Saturday, April 1st from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm there will be THREE egg hunts at Lacy Park in Warren. Hunt 1 will start at 11:30 am. Hunt 2 will begin at Noon. Hunt 3 will begin at 12:30 pm. Egg Hunt 1 & Egg Hunt 2 is pre-registration only and is for children with disabilities/delays/exceptionalities. You can register for Hunt 1 or Hunt 2 through a link on the Warren County Visitors Bureau Calendar: www.wcvb.net. Hunt 3 begins at 12:30 pm will be sensory friendly and all inclusive. You do not need to pre-register for Hunt 3.

Bunny Tails & Treats: Saturday, April 1st from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at Ekey Marketplace there will be a Bunny Tails & Treats event. Visit Ekey Marketplace and see the Easter Bunny. There will also be a craft and treats for the kids to make and take home. This is a free event and open to everyone!

Egg Hunt & Pancake Breakfast: Saturday, April 1st from 8:30 am – 11:00 am there will be a Community Easter Egg Hunt and pancake breakfast at Russell UMC (17 North Main Street, Russell). Bring the whole family. Breakfast starts at 8:30 am and Egg Hunt starts at 10:00 am. The Easter Bunny is scheduled to show up for a visit too! This even is part of the community ministry of RUMC.

FUNDRAISERS

¯ Chicken & Biscuit Fundraiser: Sunday, April 2nd from 11:30 am – 3:00 pm (or gone) the BSA Troop 22 will be having a Chicken & Biscuits Dinner fundraiser at Irvine Presbyterian Church (885 National Forge Rd, Irvine). Dine in or Take out. Benefits Scout Camp. Cost is $7 donation per meal.

¯ Ladies’ Money Madness: Saturday, May 6th there will be a Ladies’ Money Madness Fundraiser at the Garland Fire Hall. Doors open at 5 pm and drawings start at 6 pm. Only 250 tickets will be sold, cost is $25 per ticket and includes cash drawings and dinner with dessert. Must have a ticket to attend, no ticket sales after May 2nd. Total of $1,500 in cash prizes at this event. Event is BYOB. For ticket purchasing information call Julie 814-673-4202. Special Ticket deal: Save $10 by purchasing a special “$50 package.” The “$50 package includes the $25 dinner/dessert and cash drawings ticket and also a $35 gift certificate for side raffles. There will also be door prizes, basket raffle, money talks tumblers raffle, outdoor package, flower raffle, grab bags, 50/50 and pull tabs. All proceeds support Garland Fire Department.

¯ Yngs Legion non-smoking: Beginning Saturday, April 1st the Youngsville American Legion (10 North Main Street) will now be a non-smoking establishment during all business hours. Applications to join the Youngsville American Legion Post, the Sons of the American Legion- Youngsville , and/or the Yngs Legion Auxiliary are available at the Legion and will be made available for download on Youngsville Library’s homepage: YoungsvilleLibrary.org.

¯ Amphibian Program: Friday, April 7th from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm there will be a free “All About Amphibians” program at Chapman State Park Amphitheatre. Educator on an Amphibian Adventure learning all about the frogs, toads, and salamanders that call Pennsylvania home. Wear your boots and bring a flashlight because we will be searching for these amazing amphibians after a short lecture at the Amphitheatre.
