Billy’s birthday

Billy Little was an only child living in a small town but today, April 1st, was his birthday. Billy was turning eleven and was very excited this year. Turning eleven has always been a very special birthday in his family. But to his dismay, there was no surprise on his birthday. No one even mentioned it to him. The next day, he went to school very sad and talked to his best friend Patrick about his enormous letdown. Strangely, out of the fifty people that went to his little schoolhouse, ten were absent. He didn’t think much of it, but shockingly, ten more were absent the second day. This repeated until there were only ten students left. The day after that, everyone was gone, even the teacher. Billy studied alone, ate lunch alone, played in the little schoolhouse gym alone, then walked home…alone!

That night, Billy saw a limousine pull into his driveway. A man in a black suit and tie walked toward their door with a sign that said, “The Little Family”. The man told Billy and his family to please enter the limo, so they did. The limo drove off and came to a stop a few minutes later. Billy couldn’t believe his eyes when he got out. Every student and teacher, along with all of Billy’s family members were standing at the entrance of the little schoolhouse. Billy got more birthday presents then he ever imagined and had the time of his life playing games and hanging out with everyone, especially Patrick. This was truly an amazing eleventh birthday party for Billy and one that the Little family would never forget.
