A great thought

Many people would cheer that the Christmas and New Year’s holiday season is the best time of the year. But, everyone fears the time thereafter. During the days that follow, it seems like there is nothing to do. It goes from happy holidays to just bare trees and the cold. For most, this is why winter doesn’t have a very good reputation. As I was pondering this, I drifted off into an enjoyable daydream…

The holiday spirit may have left most people in town, but not everyone. Mike, Warren’s friendliest resident, had thought long and hard about how he was going to lighten up everyone’s moods. Then, he came up with this new idea, a brand-new holiday.

Mike named this holiday, “Spark in the Dark Day”. On this new holiday, people could gather at Beaty Park, and there would be fun activities for everyone. This would happen in a manner of walking to different stands and areas where you could do a certain activity. Also, if people wanted, they could just run around or talk with their friends. Mike then shared his great idea with his family, and they loved it. Then, Mike told the mayor about his new holiday. Soon, it was official. Spark in the Dark Day was coming to Warren. This would bring back happiness to the people and give them something to do after the long Christmas season.

Mike then presented a public announcement to tell everyone about the new holiday and the audience loved it. When the day had come, it was amazing. People from all around Warren got to spend time with their family and friends. Many people made new friends. So, on January 23 of every year, this holiday is to be celebrated.

“Ashton dinners ready!” My mom yelled, snapping me out of this fun adventure.
