Love your library raffle continues

The Friends of the Youngsville Library will be selling Love Your Library tickets at Station 61 Restaurant on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.

There are 11 “themed option” each at a value of $100 or more. For a $5 donation participants will receive five tickets to be used toward the theme(s) of their choice; participants can purchase as many tickets as they’d like provided the total amount purchased is divisible by five. Winners will be contacted by phone. Drawing date is Friday, March 31, at end of business day. Tickets are also available at Valley Bowling Now through Sunday, March 5. Valley Bowling’s Open Bowling hours are Fridays from 9 to 11 p.m., Saturdays from 1 to 11 p.m., and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m.

A mail-in “Raffle Request Form” can be downloaded directly from the Youngsville Library’s homepage at www.YoungsvilleLibrary.org, picked up at the Youngsville Borough office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or at Genuine Jerky (off of Route 6, next to Kwik Fill) during business hours. Tickets are also available from board members, Friends of the Library members, staff, and on-site at the Youngsville Library. MISCELLANEOUS NEWS

Lent Fish Fry: The Youngsville Free Methodist Church (179 Davis St.) will be serving fish fry dinners each Friday during Lent from 5 to 7 p.m. Fish fry dinners begin end April 1. Cost is $13 per dinner and includes: fish, choice of potato, choice of coleslaw or applesauce, roll, and beverage. Take-out is available.

Concerts Around the Casavant: Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. the First Presbyterian Church of Warren (300 Market St.) is holding a special concert series. Come and enjoy the music of Westminster College PA Trumpet Studio. All are welcome.

Owl Prowl: Saturday, March 4 there will be an “Owl Prowl” at Chapman State Park (4790 Chapman Dam Road, Clarendon) from 6 to 7 p.m. The start site is the amphitheater. Participants will meet at the amphitheater for a brief presentation on Pennsylvania’s owls, then go on a night hike to listen and hopefully see some of these incredible birds of prey. There will be hiking on a Nature Trail, which is a relatively flat trail and no longer than 2 miles. Bring a flashlight, dress for the weather, and wear appropriate footwear. VFD April Lottery Drawing: April 1 through April 30, the Wrightsville VFD and Garland VFD are having an April lottery drawing fundraising event (together) for cash and guns. Donation is $10 per ticket and buyers receive two numbers per ticket. Five hundred tickets will be sold and each ticket contains two, three-digit numbers. Winners will be determined by the Pennsylvania Lottery pick 3 evening number. In the event no number is drawn, the departments will use the previous day’s number in reverse. All unsold tickets become property of the Wrightsville & Garland VFD. All cash winners will be paid by check, with $100 awarded every Saturday, $200 awarded on Easter and $50 awarded every Wednesday. Guns will be awarded on April 7, April 14, April 21, and April 28. Another $25 will be awarded the remaining days.
