The Audubon Community Nature Center February Tween Trek is an opportunity for youth ages 12 to 15 to embark on a winter adventure away from home and Audubon.

On Thursday, Feb. 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., campers will meet at Audubon and then travel to a local destination where they will investigate and explore winter landscapes. Based on weather conditions and predictions, ACNC will determine the destination the week before. Possible activities include snowshoeing, cross country skiing, tubing, or hiking with a campfire cookout. The camp happens regardless of the weather, so youth need to dress accordingly.

Cost for the day is $48 for teens or $36 for Nature Center members; $5 discount for siblings. Enrollment is limited. Paid reservations are required by Tuesday, Feb. 21. Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren. Visit the nearly 600-acre nature preserve, check in on the live birds of prey, and hike, snowshoe or cross country ski over five miles of trails dawn until dusk daily for free. The three-story Nature Center building houses interactive displays, a collection of live animals including the Hellbender exhibit, and the Blue Heron Gift Shop. Visitors are welcome Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sundays, 1 to 4:30 p.m. Nature Center members and SNAP/EBT cardholders have free building admission daily. Building admission is also free every Sunday for non-Nature Center members.
