New e-books added to state public electronic library

The Pennsylvania Department of Education has added almost 1,000 new e-books to its public electronic library.

Those 959 e-books support education with subjects ranging from digital literacy to computer programming to business,

And all of those will be available through the Warren Public Library.

“It’s exciting to have these resources made available for everyone in our community,” WPL Technical Services Manager Jenna Derr said.

The state’s public electronic library is known as POWER Library.

“POWER Library is such a vital resource for Pennsylvanians,” Derr said. “It complements the collections we curate ourselves and helps provide educational resources for all ages.”

“These e-books are for Pennsylvanians of all ages with titles that support K-12 education, workforce development, and lifelong learning,” Deputy Secretary for the Office of Commonwealth Libraries Susan Banks said. “There is focus on digital skills in this new collection, and users can find topics and titles at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Libraries are for everyone, so you’ll find e-books for kids and older adults as well as e-books to suit the workforce needs of IT professionals.”

A like to the WPL POWER Library can be found in the lower right corner of the library’s website – warrenlibrary.org.
