Night sky program set for tonight

If you’ve ever driven past Kinzua Beach at night you know the area is about as dark as dark can be.

For that reason the site makes the perfect place for a constellation tour program that the Forest Service is offering there tonight.

The event will run from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. and is free and open to all ages.

“During our journey across the sky, we will identify stars, constellations, and night sky objects while exploring connections to our past and future,” Forest Ranger Sarah Needs said.

Those attending are asked to bring a chair or blanket as well as to take precautions from biting insects.

Federal officials also ask those attending to meet at Kinzua Beach no later than 7:50 p.m.
