Hospital auxiliary awards scholarships
Troy Shattuck, Christina Morse and Kennedy Ford were named recipients of scholarships from the Warren General Hospital Auxiliary.
Five area students have been named recipients of scholarships from the Warren General Hospital Auxiliary.
“Thanks to area community support of the Warren General Hospital Auxiliary Board’s many fundraisers, such as, the Christmas Basket Raffle, book sales, scrub sales and more,” Janet Jespersen told the Times Observer, “the WGH Auxiliary is able to fund Health Care Scholarships with the hope that our scholarship recipients might return in the future to help serve our community in the healthcare field.
Students recognized include Kennedy Ford, studying to be a physician at the University of Pittsburgh; Troy Shattuck studying physical therapy at Slippery Rock; Christina Morse studying nursing at the Venango Tech School of Nursing in Oil City; Kaitlyn Adams, a dietician/nutrition at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Stephanie Davis, a nursing student at Jamestown Community College.
The scholarship committee included Mary Beyer, Debbie Gray, Janet Peterson, Beth Ellsworth and Sue Borland.
“The Warren General Hospital Auxiliary Board members interviewed applicants and chose five to recipients to receive $1000 scholarships each,” Jespersen said.
