Site highlights local youth activities

Art and acting. Music and dance. Sports and Scouting.

Those who have heard, and believed, “there’s nothing for kids to do in Warren County,” are encouraged to take a look around the Warren County Youth Network.

The site — www.warrencountyyouthnetwork.org and at Facebook.com/TheWCYN — is a one-stop clearinghouse for youth activities.

Under the “Community Partners” tab are: the Allegheny Community Center, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America, Hi-Ed College and University Center, Struthers Library Theatre ARTE Program, Warren County Youth Football League, Molly Dies School of Dance, Robinault Media and Design, The Music Conservatory, Warren Area Student Union, Warren County Summer Music School, Warren County YMCA, Warren County Youth Baseball Softball Association, Warren County Youth Orchestra, Warren Players Club, and Warren Public Library.

The organizers do not expect that they have reached all or even most of the organizations and activities. Those with youth activities not represented on the webpage are encouraged to visit the site and send an email or call (814) 580-3913 to request an add.

The site is a result of the YMCA’s Whole Health Meeting series. The discussions in those meetings often circled around to a lack of a single place people can go to find youth activities.
