Students place at recent Kids Writers Contest

Warren County students were among those who placed in the recent WQLN PBS Kids Writers Contest in Erie.

Students in grades kindergarten through five were eligible to enter.

They had to write and illustrate an original story, according to Enrichment Instructor Rebecca Downey.

The Warren Area Elementary Center winners were:

¯ Taylor Hendrickson — kindergarten, first place: The Lazy Caterpillar;

¯ Charlie Domer — kindergarten, third place: The Hungry Wolf;

¯ Grayson Zapel — first grade, first place: The Boy Who Understood the Eagle;

¯ Lucas Lobdell — first grade, third place: The Stuck Ball and the Pickle Solution;

¯ Reagan McClellan — second grade, third place: Big Moon and Little Star; and

¯ Catherine Ozepy — third grade, second place: The Greedy Witch.

“Congratulations to these students for their creativity in writing and illustrating wonderful stories,” Downey said.
