Eagle Watch programs set for Chapman State Park

The symbol of the United States is the destination for a coming program at Chapman State Park.

There will be two Eagle Watch programs — at 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 9, and at the same time on Friday, April 15.

“This popular program will feature a presentation and opportunities to view America’s national symbol, among various other birds, and their nests,” Chapman State Park Environmental Education Specialist Jen Moore said. “We will be hiking approximately two miles round trip, over flat terrain, to view an eagle’s nest.”

Special guest and Chapman volunteer Bill Vargo will help along the way.

The program is recommended for ages 9 and up. There is no cost to participate but registration is required through the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) calendar of events by Wednesday, April 6.

Attendees are encouraged to bring cameras, binoculars, and/or spotting scopes.
