Library to erase fines with $1 payment

Warren Public Library is looking to help patrons who are in arrears clean up the books.

The accounting books, that is.

In celebration of National Library Week, the library will erase overdue fines for everyone who comes in and pays $1 between Sunday, April 3, and Saturday, April 9.

“We want to invite you back into the library this spring and we can’t think of a better way to spend National Library Week than by creating opportunities for patrons to borrow with clean accounts,” Executive Director Kelli Knapp said.

Come in and pay $1, and “the remaining fine will be erased,” Knapp said. “Still have your overdue books? Bring them back, pay $1, and have your fine erased.”

Anyone with questions may call the library at (814) 723-4650.

“Due to our ongoing renovation, we are unable to have a Patron Appreciation Day celebration, as we have in the past, but we want you to know that you are appreciated,” she said.
