Ebin Fileger, surrounded by his Jefferson DeFrees preschool classmates, holds the envelope containing his first-place $50 gift card after winning one of three top spots in the Warren Public Library Read Your Way through the Alphabet challenge. The class, and many other community children, competed in the challenge. To finish the challenge students had to complete the alphabet out of the first letters in author’s names or words in titles of books they read. The other winners of the challenge (not pictured) were: Henry VanOrd and Kenzi Irons. The library has started up the Read Your Way through the Rainbow as its next challenge. Details and applications are available at the library or by visiting the children’s programs page at warrenlibrary.org.
