Zonta open house

The Zonta Club of Warren is holding an open house on Jan. 29. The Warren club is part of Zonta International, an organization that began in nearby Buffalo in 1919, and now spans 67 countries with more than 33,000 members and over 1,200 clubs. Worldwide and locally, Zonta advocates for the empowerment of women and seeks to end domestic and gender-based violence, human trafficking and poverty. The open house is set for 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29 in the Northwest Bank Community Center next to the Northwest Bank branch at 301 Second Ave. RSVPs are requested by Jan. 27 to tina.dinger@northwest.com or via phone or text to (814) 706-4406.

AOC to ski

The Allegheny Outdoor Club will be cross country skiing at the Jamestown Audubon Community Nature Center on Sunday, Jan. 23. The group will meet at the kiosk at 2 p.m. Earl Ross will be the leader for this event and can be reached at (814) 706-1198 with any questions.

Library to be closed Monday

The Warren Public Library will be closed Monday, Jan. 24, through at least Monday, Jan. 31, for asbestos abatement related to renovations. If necessary, the closure could be extended. Updated information will be relayed through www.warrenlibrary.org, the @warrenpalibrary Facebook page, and at (814) 723-4650.

“We will be back in business as soon as possible,” Director Kelli Knapp said. “Thank you for your patience throughout the renovation process.”
