At their Oct. 25 meeting, members of the Antiques Study Club were treated to a presentation by Tim Robbins of Ruff Acres Antiques in Russell.

In “What you always wanted to know about furniture,” Robbins passed along some of his knowledge of different styles, woods, finishes, and values.

He recommended books including “The Antique Hunter’s Guide to American Furniture,” and fielded numerous questions from club members.

The reading by Poet Laureate Patricia Slattery matched the event – “Old Furniture” by Thomas Harty.

The group will meet next Dec. 13, for its Christmas luncheon, at the Warren Woman’s Club.
