Chapman State Park to host astro-photographer
Chapman State Park will host astro-photographer Dave Wilkins for a program on nightscape astro-photography.
Wilkins, a volunteer at the Martz-Kohl Observatory in Frewsburg, N.Y., will discuss the how, where, when, and what of astro-photography:
¯ How — the use of camera settings.
¯ Where — dark locations options like Chapman State Park.
¯ When — the times of year that are conducive to night sky photography.
¯ What — the celestial objects that can be shot with a variety of photographic gear.
“A camera, tripod, and camera shutter trigger or timer function, are required to participate in this program,” Wilkins said.
The program will run from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7.
Registration is required by contacting Environmental Education Specialist Jen Moore at (814) 723-0259 or jennmoore@pa.gov by 4 p.m Friday, Aug. 6. The registration limit is 15.
