Dirt. Soil. What’s the difference?

To find out, youngsters and their pals — parents, grandparents, adult siblings, or guardians — are welcome to attend the next My Pal and Me event sponsored by the Warren County Conservation District.

“Soil … it’s more than just dirt” will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at the Hatch Run Conservation Demonstration Area on Hatch Run Road in Glade Township.

“Children and their pals can come and learn about why soil is so important,” Watershed Specialist Jean Gomory said. “We will see what we can find that lives in the soil around us.”

“The soil under out feet is more than just dirt,” Gomory said. “Come explore. Dig around. You’ll never look at soil the same way again.”

Participants are encouraged to wear clothes that can get dirty.
