Audubon Photography Club meeting July 8

The themes for the Thursday meeting of the Audubon Nature Photography Club are Creeks and Rivers and Red, White and Blue. This photo was taken by Photo Club member Pat Hellner.

The next meeting of the Jamestown Audubon Photography Club is Thursday at 6:15 p.m. in the auditorium at Audubon Community Nature Center.

The themes for the meeting are Creeks and Rivers and Red, White and Blue.

Members are encouraged to submit their photos for these themes for inclusion in the monthly slideshow. A video presentation by Nigel Danson on photographing sunrise and sunset will be shown; these are the themes for the month of August, along with the theme Humor in Nature.

Member Cathy Abers-Kimball is hosting the annual photo club picnic at her home in August.

The August and September slideshows will be combined for the September meeting.

Aug. 31 is the deadline to submit photographs to the Audubon Community Nature Center 2021 Nature Photography Contest. Details for the competition that awards $1,200 in cash prizes can be found at ACNCPhotoContest.com.

After a long hiatus, club members are inviting the public to attend meetings. Those who are fully vaccinated do not need to wear a mask indoors; otherwise, those attending must wear a mask during the meeting.

For more information contact club co-presidents John Brustrom at RetiredPeasant@gmail.com or Karen Christy at karen.m.christy@aol.com or visit the club Facebook page at facebook.com/jasphotoclub789.

The Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown, N.Y., and Warren, Pa.
