Lights of Love II vigil set for Sat.

Lights of Love II community vigil will be held Saturday to show support for those impacted by COVID-19.

“COVID-19 has impacted our individual lives, our community, our country, and the entire world,” according to a release from Warren First Presbyterian Church. “It has caused suffering and brought death in unprecedented numbers. And it’s not over.”

The first Lights of Love vigil was held on Feb. 19.

The public is invited to join this visible demonstration of support.

“Our vision is to have as many people as possible show up on Saturday evening, June19 and be in place by 7 p.m. when bells will begin to ring for 19 minutes,” according to the release. “You are encouraged to bring a flashlight or cell phone to shine while you stand socially distanced with others. Candles will be available in front of First Presbyterian Church – 300 Market Street – if you prefer to hold a candle.”

Those who would like to participate are asked to arrive between 6:40 and 6:50 p.m. Organizers hope there will be enough people participating to line both sides of Market Street from Second Avenue to Fifth Avenue.

Anyone with questions may call the church at (814) 723-9200.

“There’s no program, no agenda, no strings attached,” according to the release. “We just hope you’ll show up to express support.”
