The Audubon Community Nature Center will host an information session for animal care volunteers from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, June 17, led by Kim Turner, Audubon’s animal care specialist.

Along with a number of animal care volunteers, Turner will describe what opportunities are available and the type of training needed. There will be time to talk with the current volunteers, meet the animals, and have questions answered.

If caring for the animals might not be a good fit, there will also be information on other ways area residents can volunteer at Audubon.

Space is limited for the free program. Regardless of vaccination status, face coverings are required for all indoor programs.

Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are appreciated by calling 569-2345 or clicking through “Register for a Program” at AudubonCNC.org.

The Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown, N.Y., and Warren, Pa. While practicing safe social distancing measures, visit six miles of trails on the 600-acre nature preserve from dawn to dusk daily. The Nature Center building includes the Blue Heron Gift Shop, live animals, and the winning photographs from the 2020 Nature Photography Contest. Visitors are welcome Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is by donation only.
