The Philomel Club of Warren is accepting applications for its annual scholarships for students in seventh grade and up who are studying with a private music instructor.

Scholarships are also available for students continuing education in music beyond high school or special community projects that meet Philomel goals.

Application should include general information about the applicant (name, address, phone number, age/year in school), instrument played, musical goals and accomplishments, how the scholarship will help them and private instructor’s name and address.

College students should include name of the school they are attending, their major and minor areas of study, instruments played, music goals and accomplishments, and how the scholarship will help them achieve their musical career.

Applications should be mailed to Gail Cowan, Philomel Scholarship chairman, 526 Old Pittsfield Road, Pittsfield, PA 16340 or by email to jcowan@eaglezip.net no later than Friday, April, 30.

Applications for the Barbara Baldwin DeFrees Music Scholarship for the 2021-22 academic year are now being accepted by the Community Foundation of Warren County. Higher education music students in piano, string, woodwinds or voice can apply at cfowc.org.
