Legion To Host Bingo Night

Each Thursday is Bingo Night from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Youngsville American Legion, 10 N. Main St. Bingo night is open to the public. Food service begins at 5 p.m. and no smoking is permitted from 5 to 9 p.m. on Bingo nights. The weekly fundraiser directly benefits Youngsville Legion sponsored outreach programs and activities. Masks must be worn if not seated and social distancing guidelines must be followed. Call 814-563-4412 for more information.

BOY SCOUTS SOUP AND PIE

Boy Scout Troop 22 is having a Soup and Pie Fundraiser on Saturday, April 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.mm. at the Irvine Presbyterian Church, National Forge Road, Irvine. Dine-in or take-out orders are available. Cost is by donation.

BOROUGH NEWS

For Youngsville Borough residents, the annual spring cleanup will be May 8 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Youngsville Borough building parking lot, (40 Railroad St. Identification is required. Minimum fees are: $10 per car and $20 per truck. Items not accepted include tires, batteries, paint cans, propane tanks, desktop or laptop computers, computer monitors, computer peripherals (accessories), televisions, or any other electronic device or other hazardous materials.

The Youngsville Cemetery Association, its volunteers, and mowers have been working hard to ensure the upkeep of the cemetery. As they prepare for spring and are working to have the cemetery looking beautiful for Memorial Day, officials ask lot owners to remove any Christmas wreaths or other foliage from the gravesites right away. There is a dumpster available for those items.

Also, there are some willing mowers but the association could needs volunteers for string trimming and mowing, since it is such a large cemetery. Volunteers can call Hagberg at 814-431-5421.

VIRTUAL JOB FAIR

PA CareerLink will host a Northwest Workforce Area Virtual Job FairThursday-Friday, April 15th-16, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Registration is from April 12-14. A second job fair will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, April 29-30, with registration from April 26-28. Access the event from any device anywhere with internet service. CHICKEN BARBECUE FUNDRAISER

Today, starting at noon and continuing until sold out, the Youngsville Sons of the American Legion is having a barbecued chicken fundraiser at the Youngsville Legion pavilion, 10 N. Main St. The fundraiser is open to the public. Cost is a $10 donation per meal and includes half a chicken, baked bean, macaroni salad, and a roll. Take-out orders only.
