The Audubon Community Nature Center will host an American Red Cross blood drive today.

The Red Cross is giving donors a $5 Amazon.com Gift Card by email.

Red Cross is testing all donations for COVID-19 antibodies. Results are available via donor account on RedCrossBlood.org and the Blood Donor App about 10-14 days after. If you are well, the Red Cross recommends scheduling now.

Appointments are preferred, but not required. For questions regarding eligibility or to schedule an appointment, call 1-800-733-2767, visit RedCrossBlood.org or click on “Register for Upcoming Programs” at AudubonCNC.org.

Wear a face covering and follow all public health requests upon entry. Date and times are subject to change based on the local COVID-19 situation.

Those who donate can stay indoors to enjoy the exhibits including live animals and the 2020 Nature Photography Contest winners, check out the Blue Heron Gift Shop, or go outside for a walk or visit with Liberty, Audubon’s non-releasable Bald Eagle.

The Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren. Normal Nature Center building hours are Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Because not all of the building is accessible, admission is by donation only. Face coverings are required.

Visitors can visit the 600-acre nature preserve from dawn to dusk daily. While practicing safe social distancing measures, can hike, snowshoe, or cross country ski the six miles of trails and view Liberty.
