Snowmobile trail access changes revealed

There are several changes in snowmobile trail access for the 2020-21 winter season on the Allegheny National Forest.

The main Allegheny Snowmobile Loop is closed from the intersection of Forest Route 120 and Forest Route 141 to the intersection of Forest Route 262 (Longhouse Scenic Byway) and state Route 321 for the season. Allegheny Snowmobile Loop Connector 19 (Longhouse Scenic Byway), from Route 59 to Route 321 is also closed for the season. A current map showing the closures is be available at www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE–DOCUMENTS/stelprdb5052705.pdf

The closures are the result of road construction on Forest Route 262 this winter.

The Willow Creek Snowmobile Club has worked with the Bradford City Water Authority, Collins Pine Company and Pine Acres Country Club to secure 19 miles of new club trails adjacent to the forest.

The trails will be opening this season and are accessible from Trail 1A.

More information is available at willowcreeksnomobi.wixsite.com/wcsc/trails.

Snowmobile operators may encounter vehicles, groomers, snowshoers, dog sled teams and cross-country skiers at any time.

Maintained snowmobile trails will not be groomed until there is a significant amount of snow on the ground.
