Several members of the Sanford Saddles and Spurs 4-H club participated in the Pleasantville, Pa., Horse Christmas Parade recently.

The event was put on by the Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department – Station 16. The parade was lead by a Pleasantville fire truck carrying Santa and Mrs. Claus and was followed by all of the horses.

Brooke Anthony rode her horse Kloee in the parade. Mackenzie Nichols rode Laser. Evelyn and Alaina Ongley drove their miniature horse Alcapony in the parade. Other club members came to watch the parade and support their friends.

Club members also recently picked up the wreaths and beef sticks that they had ordered for a fundraiser and they will be delivering these items to friends and family following safe social distancing guidelines.

The club is still waiting on approval for a December in-person 4-H meeting. Some members will be participating in a virtual gingerbread decorating contest to help get everyone in the Christmas spirit. Enrollment is now open for the 2020-2021 4-H year, so members are encouraged to reenroll now. Anyone interested in joining the 4-H club should contact leaders Matt and Dianna Maille at 436-7778.
