Conservation District photo contest winners announced

The inaugural Warren County Conservation District Photo Contest drew 46 entries and a bunch of talent.

Mallory Myers took Best in Show with her photo of a snail.

Members of the Warren Camera Club judged entries on Oct. 7, determining the top three photos in each of four categories: trees, barns, sunsets, and wildlife.

The top three photos in the tree category were taken by: first — Christopher Goff; second — Goff; and third — Rita Goldthwaite.

In barns, Goldthwaite took first and third, and Goff took second.

Barbara Scott placed first in sunsets, with Goldthwaite second, and Myers third.

Myers took first in wildlife with her Best-in-Show shot. Karen Bauer took second, and Martin McQuillan took third.

People’s Choice voting was held from Sept. 21 through Oct. 5.

The People’s Choice winners by category were:

¯ Trees: Goff;

Sunsets was one of the categories in the inaugural Warren County Conservation District Photo Contest.

¯ Barns: Goldthwaite;

¯ Sunsets: Goldthwaite; and

¯ Wildlife: Myers.

Gift cards donated by Allegheny Outfitters were awarded to the first-place winners, Best of Show and People’s Choice.

The categories for the 2021 Warren County Conservation District Photo Contest will be: tractors, birds, flowers, and people in nature.
